“My name is Agnes and I live in Barcelona (Catalonia), though I also often travel back to my hometown, a very small town between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean. Whatever little free time I have I dedicate to photography which, in the last couple of years, has become a passion of mine.
I like minimalist, simple compositions and atmospheres that arouse inner feelings and emotions. I like incorporating backlight and leveraging blur in my photos. Whenever I can, I try to capture the warm light of the end of the day, either shining through a window or washing the vast scapes outside… I also love shooting still life such as old objects, books and wildflowers. In fine weather, I try to experiment with macro and wide angle photography. I love working with the digital darkroom as well: experimenting with colors, textures, grain and so on…
I mostly shoot with a simple DSLR camera and a 50mm lens with a very wide aperture opening which really helps a lot in dim light situations. In the future, I would also love to learn how to make my own textures, experiment with a Lensbaby and try my hand at film photography and instant cameras.” ~ Agnes Caixas
