Born in Seaham Co. Durham, Jon-Paul knew from the age of 13 that he wanted to be either Mad Scientist or Secret Agent.That didn’t pan out, so he set about pursuing a career in Illustration, which in turn, led to a quicker form of image making, Photography, which he went on to study at Newcastle college of art and design. From that time forward he has been single mindedly pursuing Photography as a career, a way of life and a vocation.His focus is Advertising & Design, where he works within range of styles, and techniques, covering subject matter as diverse as Landscape, People, Sport, Animals, Portraits and Conceptual work.Jon-Paul believes that Advertising Photography can be an Art Form in its own right. His style comes from an unappeasable appetite for imagery, everything from classical paintings to comic books are fused to create a hyperreality that blends fantasy with reality. Possessing a high degree of technical ability he is particularly skilled at producing multiple composite images. Jon-Paul believes every job should be finely crafted as such enjoys collaborating on every stage of a job, following it from its inception through to its completion.For work and pleasure Jon-Paul thoroughly enjoys the challenge that location shoots bring and is often found wedged into a crevice halfway up a windswept mountain, he is also perfectly at home in the more demanding environment of the nice cozy studio, usually with a large mug of steaming black coffee.He is currently based in London and still dreams of inventing a device to take over the world, but in the meantime he is content with being able command its every detail in his images.Jon-Paul’s work has won numerous prestigious awards including – The International Photography Masters cup. Recently his work has been selected for Lurzers Archive top 200 Advertising Photographers worldwide.Jon-Paul is currently working on a personal projects and exhibition.
