Some Pigeons Are More Equal Than Others by Julius von Bismarck and Julian Charriere in THISISPAPER MAGAZINE
The project is about dying 35 pigeon in the city of Copenhagen. A «pigeon apparatus» was build with this purpose. The machine works as a bird trap with a conveyor belt mechanism, ones inside the machine the pigeon get automatically airbrushed in different colors. The machine was installed for a week on a roof in Copenhagen.

The project generally expands on both artist’s practice of rebelling against socialization, while questioning value patterns conveyed by societal constructs and the laws of nature.

The vibrantly colored pigeons, painted by an automatic mechanism created by the artists, become more visible, shifting one’s perception of the environment and increasing one’s awareness of these physical urban spaces we share.
