The work of Yvonne Lacet does not take shape in separate, independent projects. Instead, it consists of a wide range of studies that depart from the same principle, reconstructing details and scenes from reality reduced with the help of basic materials such as paper, sheets and cardboard. Yvonne’s work takes sights, objects and situations and simplifies them into basic shapes and structures. In this way, she takes out every contextual reference to bring them back to their bare essentials. Yvonne seeks to explore the boundaries of our imaginative strengths. Her images ask: When does something turn into nothing and when does nothing turn into something?
