Tim Carpenter was born in May of 1968 in Monticello, Illinois. After obtaining a BA in 1990 and a JD in 1993, he managed communications for the Portland (Oregon) Art Museum. Later, he wrote about art, photography, and design for such institutions as the Museum of Modern Art, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, and the National Gallery of Art.
Tim has studied photography at the International Center of Photography and the New School. His work has been featured in two group shows at the Jen Bekman Gallery and on numerous curated photography websites. His own website has been highlighted as an editor’s pick on several notable art and design sites, in the United States and around the world. Tim lives in Brooklyn.
