Born in 1966 in Lleida. Lives and works in Barcelona.
Jordi Bernadó sees photography as a way to conceive the city, its architecture, and its layout, and understands his medium as a means of knowledge. His ambition and rigour when decoding these contexts have resulted in an expansive, personal, and complex body of work. Inspired by contradiction, absurdity, risk and often irony, Bernadó uses these sources to flirt with the world and point out his surroundings.
His photographs have been acquired for major public and private collections, such as those of Fundació, “La Caixa,” Fundación Telefónica, Bibliothèque Nationale de France, Deutsche Bank Collection, Artium, MUSAC, Fundación Vila Casas, and Banc Sabadell among others. They have also been shown in many solo and collective exhibitions in Spain and abroad, at venues such as Artist Space in New York, la galerie VU’ in Paris, Filter Space in Hamburg, Museo Civico Riva del Garda, Fundación Telefónica in Madrid, Fotografie Forum International in Frankfurt, the Centre d’Art la Panera in Lleida and in Galería Senda in Barcelona.
